Seasonal vegetables, fruit, herbs and value added goods
Farmstead 42 (previously Market Garden 42) is a farming collaboration between Krissy Voutas and Austin Moline based in Elgin, Texas. Our goals are to grow food using ecologically based and regenerative natural farming practices, to contribute to community service and outreach efforts by providing affordable produce and education around these practices, and to test the viability of alternative growing methods in our bioregion.
The methods we employed are primarily directed at facilitating soil and system health so that crop vitality can arise naturally without the need for excessive inputs. Some of our favorite techniques are derived from traditional natural farming practices, biodynamics, permaculture and carbon farming. Above any dogma that may arise from a specific farming ideology, we practice being good stewards of the land and sharing of the bounty.
Located 30 miles east of Austin, Lucky Greens Cooperative Farm offers produce grown with sustainable methods and a main focus on consumer safety and soil health.
We’re a 10+ permaculture-inspired homestead, apiary, learning facility, and small farm. We sell a variety of produce and value-added products seasonally.
